Summary

Boise’s parking strategic plan from 2016 looks at the benefits of shared mobility as a consideration for public streetspace in downtown Boise. The plan develops a “mobility toolbox” that looks at the following programs to increase mobility access: 

  1. Shared privately owned vehicles- carsharing and ridesharing
  2. making car commutes shorter or more efficient- park & rides, carpooling
  3. public shuttles and vans- paratransit, services for elderly & disabled, shuttle services to transit stations or activity centers, circulating shuttles in activity centers,
  4. Public-private partnerships- employer programs and integrated carshare & transit systems
