The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) has partnered with Uber to launch a pilot program that provides subsidized Uber rides. Passengers will receive $2 discount on two types of Uber rides between Monday and Friday from 5:30 am to 7:00 pm: (i) rides starting and ending within the Highland Village Zone; and (ii) rides starting and/or end at the Medical Center of Lewisville with a pick up location and/or destination in the Highland Village Zone. According to officials, depending on the success of the pilot, the program may be expanded to other areas of Denton County.
Update: Begining May 2017 this service has expanded to include new areas in North Lewisville and areas east of Interstate 35E.
