This legislation governs the operation of autonomous vehicles on public roads in the state of Michigan. It allows the testing of self-driving cars without a driver in the driver’s seat and gives automakers the ability to offer autonomous vehicle ride-hailing services to the public. The regulation also states that operators will take full liability for any accident where the autonomous vehicle was at fault while using self-driving technology.
