Adding onto a bill that was passed in April 2012, this law allows the operation of autonomous vehicles on public roads without the presence of a driver. It also eliminates the requirement that the self-driving car can only operate under testing purposes and other rules governing the use of autonomous vehicles for testing projects. It appropriates funding to the Florida Department of Transportation, along with regulatory authority.
