5 minutes Date Launched: Sep 6, 2018
The City of Providence, with the support of founding sponsors, Lifespan and Tufts Health Plan, has partnered with Uber to launch JUMP bikeshare service in Providence, Rhode Island. Through this partnership, 400 dockless e-bikes are available at 40 hubs and across the city. Bikes can be rented through either the Uber or JUMP mobile app and may be parked anywhere within the pilot area after a trip is complete. Rides cost $2 for the first 30 minutes and $0.07 per minute after that. Monthly membership, cash-based membership, and low-income membership options are also available. This bikeshare aims to provide a healthy and convenient way to get around, and is supported, in part, by funding from the US Department of Transportation.
Contributed through a partnership between the Shared-Use Mobility Center, ITS America and the Federal Transit Administration’s Mobility on Demand Program.
