TNCs Today: A Profile of San Francisco Transportation Network Company Activity, San Francisco, California, 2017

This report tracked TNC  data of trips made entirely within San Francisco, gleaned from the Application Programming Interfaces (API) of Uber and Lyft over a period from mid-November to mid-December 2016. While the study examined the impacts on congestion, etc. caused by the number of vehicles and trips generated by the TNCs, it was necessary because the data that the TNCs provide to their regulatory agency, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) does not flow down to either the local jurisdictions or the public.
