Milwaukee incorporates adaptive bikes into public bikeshare system, Milwaukee, MI, 2019

In August 2019, the City of Milwaukee incorporated several adaptive bikes into its docked public bikeshare system, Bublr, for a 6-month pilot program. The bikes – which include upright trikes, hand-cycles and 2-person side-by-side tandem bikes – can be accessed directly from the bikeshare stations. The vehicles can be located through the website or app-based system.  The first phase of the pilot concluded in December 2019, and an evaluation of the pilot will be conducted before a second phase is launched in 2020.
