Connection to Other Government Goals:
LTA’s vision for a car-lite nation is not only about providing the amenities to support walking, cycling and riding, but also building a culture of courtesy and respect for fellow commuters. The Active Mobility Act (AMA) came into force on May 2018, providing a set of rules and code of conduct to enable safer sharing of public paths among various users.
Safe Infrastructure Requirements:
The Government will also expedite the construction of cycling path infrastructure.
Government Parking Requirement:
The Government provide yellow boxes and bicycle racks. You may also refer to your bicycle sharing app, which will display nearby designated parking zones. In particular, LTA will implement a QR code-enabled geo-fencing solution in the second half of 2018. Operators will require their users to scan the unique QR code at the parking location as proof of proper parking, before they can end their trip.
