All vehicles must be parked in a fixed, upright position in a public bike rack. Bike racks can be found in all 19 boroughs.
In a clearance zone, each vehicle must be parked perpendicular to the street, against the
curb of the sidewalk and must be able to stand vertically without resting on another support.
Vehicles, Fleets, Fees, Fares
Vehicles equipped with a locking mechanism or intelligent technology equipment to prevent theft, as well as a permanently affixed real-time GPS location device; at least one brake system acting on the rear wheel, powerful enough to quickly block the rotation of the wheel on a paved, dry and level roadway.
Every person riding a power-assisted bicycle on a public highway must wear a protective helmet that complies with the following standards of manufacture:
(1) be made of a rigid shell with a padded interior; and
(2) be equipped with a chin strap.
Required: safety deposit - an irrevocable bank guarantee letter for the benefit of the city,
issued by a financial institution, in the amount of $50 for each vehicle in its fleet, or
any other guarantee letter deemed acceptable by the city, to cover the costs incurred
by the city in the event of the applicant's failure to perform their obligations in
accordance with this by-law.

Connection to Other Government Goals:
The city would like to encourage other forms of transportation besides personal vehicles and has adopted a by-law around the arrival of DSUVs, which provide an alternative method to public transportation while reducing the pressure of cars.
Communications and Data
Provider communication responsibilities:
The operator must provide service in French and make a mobile application available in French. The mobile application must also be able to locate vehicles.
The operator must ensure that each vehicle in its fleet clearly and visibly indicates:
(1) a unique identification number;
(2) the operator's company logo and address. No other advertising or logos are allowed on the vehicle;
(3) the toll-free telephone number to call at any time, and the website or e-mail address to report vehicles that are not parked in accordance with by-law and for any question of safety or public nuisance.
