Berkeley’s Department of Public Works created a new bicycle plan that spans 2017-2035. The plan would cost an estimated $62.5 million dollars and create a vast bikenetwork throughout the city. As of June 2017 the plan is still in draft form and will likely undergo changes at the City Council level before it can be officially adopted. The plan takes a data driven approach to creating safer bike routes to encourage ridership among all Berkeley residents.
