Bird has entered an agreement to be the sole micromobility provider at San Diego State University (SDSU). With this agreement, SDSU will be the first location in the United States to host Birds’ new fleet of pedal-assist e-bicycles. SDSU community members will have access to special pricing for using Birds’ scooters and bicycles along with certain safety incentives; for example, customers who take a picture of themselves wearing a helmet through the Bird app get a discount of $0.25 for their ride.
Electric bicycles and scooters can be a useful mobility solution for navigating the SDSU campus and surrounding area. The campus itself is 280 acres and has a student population of 44,000. While the scope of Bird’s partnership with SDSU is yet to be seen, shared scooters and bicycles certainly provide more mobility options to the community.
