The Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC), Richmond’s public transit provider, and UZURV, a reservation app through which users can book on-demand transportation services (such as Uber and Lyft), have partnered to launch the paratransit pilot program CARE On-demand. Through this program, elderly residents and individuals with disabilities who are part of GRTC Transit System’s CARE service can schedule advanced rides via UZURV. CARE On-Demand rides costs users $6 per ride, with GRTC covering up to an additional $15 towards the remaining cost of the trip. This program aims to increase the mobility of ADA-eligable communities in Richmond.
