The City of West Sacramento has partnered with ride-hailing company, Via, to provide on-demand, flat-fare transportation in West Sacramento. Through this one-year pilot program, ten Mercedes vans, each seating up to six passengers, are available for service from 7am-7pm on weekdays and 9am-7pm on Saturdays. The vans are owned and operated by Via and will generally pick up and drop off passengers within a block of their designated location. Customers can book a seat for $3.50, or $1.75 for seniors, through the Via app or by calling. This ridesharing partnership is supported by grants from CalTrans and the Sacramento Area Council of Governments. The pilot aims to provide timely, customizable transportation at an affordable price.
