The City of Seattle has partnered with Uber to launch “Don’t Leave It to Luck” pilot program, which aims at preventing impaired driving. The partners will join forces at events throughout 2016 to raise awareness of the issue and give people easy access to a discounted ride home after alcohol consumption. The pilot program will kick off on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th, 2016. The St. Patrick’s Day efforts are threefold: (i) Uber Breathalyzer Kiosk, which gives people who have tries the breathalyzer test a free ride up to $15; (ii) UberHOP Routes, which will run between nightlife district and residential areas; and (iii) Discount code for new Uber users distributed via promotional coasters across 150 bars. This program reflects Seattle’s Vision Zero goal.
