The City of Chicago’s “Drive Electric Chicago” program received a $15.5 million grant from the federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) program, which it will use to purchase 182 Electric Vehicles (EV), including 6 EV buses for the city’s airports, and charging infrastructure, which includes 9 DC fast charging stations and 182 Level 2 charging stations.
The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) will simultaneously install, operate, and maintain 20 DC fast chargers and 80 Level 2 chargers at their airports.
