Summary

City Departments will develop and implement a plan to reduce gasoline fuel consumption, and operate all vehicles in a manner that ensures maximum fuel conservation. The City will commit to investigate the benefit, availability and use of lower carbon fuels, low emission & zero emission vehicles.

Key Definitions: "Alternative Fuel Vehicle" means any motor vehicle powered by alternative fuels. "Carpool" means the shared use of a car, in particular for commuting to work, often by people who each have a car but travel together to save costs or to help reduce traffic congestion. "Electric Vehicles"- Vehicles powered by electricity, generally using a rechargeable battery. May also be referred to as an "EV." (p.2) 3. Policy (p.1)
