The Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) has partnered with Lime to launch bikeshare service in Arlington, MA, as well as fourteen other Boston metropolitan communities. Through this one-year regional pilot, 150 dockless Limebike bicycles are available in Arlington. Bikes will also be available in the other participating municipalities (including: Bedford, Belmont, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, Milton, Needham, Newton, Revere, Waltham, Watertown, and Winthrop), and can be operated in any of these areas. In order to locate and unlock the bikes, riders must use the Lime mobile app. Rides cost $1 per 30 minutes. Bikeshare provider, Spin, will also join the program later this summer, increasing the number of available bikes.
Contributed through a partnership between the Shared-Use Mobility Center, ITS America and the Federal Transit Administration’s Mobility on Demand Program.
