While moving towards a form-based zoning code, the City of Hartford, Connecticut has joined Buffalo, New York in eliminating their off street parking minimums for off-street parking citywide, as shown in the table, below. Instead, they have instituted maximums in order to create density, increase tax revenues, and reduce water run-off. For shared mobility, reduced parking might encourage other modes, and might anticipate the land use requirements for autonomous vehicles.
