Summary

The City of San Clemente has partnered with Lyft to offer subsidized rides that begin or end along the corridors of the 191 and 193 bus routes between 6am and 8pm. The program is designed to lessen effect of discontinued bus routes and to help solve the first/last mile problem along the designated route. The city posted an RFP for ridershare companies and recieved proposals from Uber, Via, and Lyft as well as Yellow Cab of Greater Orange County. The proposal submitted by Lyft was unanimously viewed as the most competitive and was selected as the winner. The details of Lyft’s proposal as well as the concerns seen in the other companies’ proposals can be seen in the attached document.
