5 minutes Date Launched: Oct 23, 2018
King County Metro has partnered with Ford-owned microtransit service provider, Chariot, to launch Ride2 – a one-year pilot shuttle service aimed at facilitating access to public transit and alleviating demand for parking. Through this program, as of October 23, locals can take on-demand shuttles to and from Bellevue’s Eastgate Park-and-Ride, where there is a range of other public transit options. Chariot service is available within the designated service area from 6-10am and 4-8pm on weekdays. Shuttle service will be free for the first few months of the program. Later, rides will cost a standard Metro bus fare, with transfers being free of charge if a transit card is used. Rides can be reserved via phone or by using the “Ride2 Park & Ride” app.
