  • Date Enacted: Jan 1, 2005

The Lifeline subsidized monthly transit pass is available to qualified customers at a 50% discount from the standard adult monthly pass price. To qualify, residents must provide a government issued ID as well as proof of income eligibility, which changes by size of household. In 2011, a Youth Lifeline pass was introduced in a partnership between the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency and the San Francisco Unified School District in an effort to make public transportation more accessible for students.
