Santa Monica Bike Share, 2015

The City of Santa Monica has introduced a bikesharing system with added flexibility for its users. The system contains stations similar to more traditional bike share systems, but allows users to park the bike at a non-designated location, as long as it is within the system area, for a $2 charge. Other users can then return these bikes to designated stations and receive a $1 credit towards their account. This added flexibility allows users within the system area to create a door to door service, making the system as a whole more convenient.
