5 minutes Date Launched: May 22, 2017
On May 22, Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) and Scoop Technologies launched a pilot program to encourage carpooling in the San Francisco Bay area in California. Through this partnership, CCTA will utilize 511 Contra Costa (the local transportation demand management program) and offer $2 off Scoop carpool rides for local commuters. To schedule carpools, commuters should download the Scoop app and enter their commute details either the night before (for morning commutes) or a few hours in advance (for afternoon commutes). The aim of this program is to reduce congestion and help the environment in the process.
