The University of Wyoming has relaunched its SafeRide service as a combination of two legacy services: LaramieLink Dial-a-Ride and SafeRide’s late-night ride service. Under this new iteration, SafeRide offers customers fare-free curb-to-curb rides within the city limits of Laramie. SafeRide operates from 6:30 AM to 2 AM, Monday through Friday, from 10 AM to 2 AM on Saturdays, and from 10 AM to 10 PM on Sundays. Customers can request their rides through the SafeRide smartphone app, by phone, or by going to the SafeRide office in downtown Laramie. While the University of Wyoming operates SafeRide, Via, a technology company, supports the booking and routing technology for the microtransit service. The fleet for SafeRide includes ADA-compliant vehicles.
Combining two mobility services can make shared mobility more efficient for students at the University of Wyoming and residents and visitors of Laramie. As a fare-free microtransit service, customers can hopefully travel across Laramie more safely and conveniently at all times of the day.
