5 minutes Date Launched: Aug 10, 2021 Pilot Project Timeframe: 10 months
The City of Toledo has launched a new bikeshare and scooter pilot in partnership with Veo. This new micromobility program replaces the ToleGO Bike Share program supported by Gotcha. In this pilot, Veo is providing a fleet of 100 Halo Pedal bicycles, 100 seated Cosmo scooters, and up to 300 standing Astro scooters. Veos’ bicycles can be parked at the same docks originally provided through ToleGO Bike Share. Borrowing the Halo Pedal bicycles cost $1 per hour, while the Cosmo and Astro scooters cost $1 plus $0.35 per minute. The scooters are powered by batteries, which can be swapped out when their power levels are low. Customers can borrow all of Veos’ vehicles between 5 AM and midnight in Toledo. Veo is supporting this system at no cost to the City of Toledo.
This pilot indicates the City’s intention to expand its micromobility offerings after the success of the ToleGO Bike Share pilot. It will be important to observe if Toledo extends this program beyond the initial 10 month pilot period.
