SolTrans Offers $5 Lyft Rides within Benicia, CA 2021

Solano County Transit (SolTrans) has partnered with the City of Benicia and the Solano Transportation Authority to expand the $5 Benicia Lyft Program. In this program, rides with Lyft, a transportation network company (TNC), will cost $5 if they start and end within the Benicia City limits. More specifically, these rides are subsidized up to a $20 limit. If rides on Lyft exceed that amount, customers pay the difference on top of the $5 fare. These rides are redeemed by entering a promotion code inside the Lyft app. Operating hours for the $5 Benicia Lyft Program are from 6 AM to 9 PM everyday.

This program is designed to address congestion and parking shortages on Benicia’s First Street corridor, a commercial district. This program is funded through the Bay Area Air Quality Management District’s (BAAQMD) Transportation Fund for Clean Air (TFCA) and the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District’s (YSAQMD) Clean Air Funds Program.
