In partnership with bikesharing company, Zagster, York City has launched a new bikesharing program. As of June 30, bikes are now available for pick up at three bike stations across the city. Residents and visitors can access these bikes either through a $20 annual Zagster membership or for $3 an hour (up to $30 per ride). Members can ride for free for the first two hours of each trip, after which they are charged $2 per hour. The program is funded through a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant program with the aim of promoting health and physical activity. York City officials hope to expand this program in the future.
Contributed through a partnership between the Shared-Use Mobility Center, ITS America and the Federal Transit Administration’s Mobility on Demand Program.
