According to the Zero Project, in 2013 the City of Chicago consolidated the dispatch of its wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV) taxis. A non-profit, Open Taxis, was selected as its partner. In 2014, it partnered with Uber to also dispatch UberAccess vehicles. The current program allows users to either a call-in or use the Open Taxi app to hail a WAV.
