Citilink to Launch Vanpool Service, Fort Wayne, IN, 2023

The Fort Wayne City Council has approved the creation of the Joblink Vanpool Program. Citilink, the local transit agency, will serve as the administrator and operator for this service. The Joblink Vanpool Program will begin in early 2023, giving employers and vanpool participants the opportunity to share costs for gas, insurance, and maintenance through a monthly fee. Vanpool participants can manage their accounts through a Citilink-hosted online portal. Participating businesses and vanpool participants must reside within Allen County.

Businesses hope this new vanpool program can serve as a means of recruitment and retention for potential and existing employees. With ongoing labor shortages across the United States, transportation demand management programs, such as vanpools, can serve as a means to expanding mobility choices for commuters.
