The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) has partnered with Getaround to offer carsharing service at Metro transit park-and-ride lots throughout Los Angeles County, California. Through this partnership, 110 parking spaces are made available across 27 Metro transit stations for peer-to-peer carsharing vehicles–privately owned vehicles available for rent via the Getaround mobile app. These vehicles can be booked, located, and unlocked through the Getaround app starting at $5 per hour, depending on the type of vehicle rented. As part of the program, LA Metro riders can receive $25 off their first booking. This partnership aims to improve first/last mile mobility and reduce the number of cars on the road.
Contributed through a partnership between the Shared-Use Mobility Center, ITS America and the Federal Transit Administration’s Mobility on Demand Program.
