The Regional Transportation District (RTD), which operates public transit services in Denver, has partnered with ridesourcing company Uber to integrate public transit information into the Uber app.
Through this partnership, real-time bus and train schedules, directions, and expected fares for RTD transit services will be available via a “Transit” feature within the Uber app. This feature aims to better enable users to seamlessly plan multimodal trips while also expanding transit access, and is Uber’s first integration with mass transit. In the future, the partnership plans to expand the integrated capabilities to include trip payment – enabling riders to pay for both the Uber and transit components of their trip within the Uber app.
Contributed through a partnership between the Shared-Use Mobility Center, ITS America and the Federal Transit Administration’s Mobility on Demand Program.
