STAR Transit Integrates into GoPass App, Dallas, TX 2021

Customers of STAR Transit are now able to pay for their fares through the GoPass app. STAR Transit is a transit agency that serves Balch Springs, DeSoto, Hutchins, Mesquite, Seagoville, Kaufman County, and Rockwall County outside of Dallas. The agency provides about 235,000 rides per year through fixed-route buses, dial-a-rides, and demand-responsive transportation (DRT) services. At various points, STAR Transit’s network connects with Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s (DART) network, which has been using the GoPass app and account-based system since 2013. On the GoPass app, STAR Transit customers can now use their credit or debit card to purchase, store, and redeem fares for a single-ride, a day pass, or a monthly pass.

GoPass is well-regarded as one of the most cutting-edge account-based systems in the United States, allowing customers to more seamlessly pay for transit and other mobility services across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan area. With STAR Transit now a participating GoPass agency, GoPass has expanded its reach to new communities. STAR Transit customers now have a MaaS-oriented app at their disposal when paying for fares on STAR and when potentially transferring to DART. Using the GoPass app can make the customer experience more user friendly on STAR Transit.
