VTA Flex, San Jose, California, 2016

  • Date Launched: Jan 11, 2016
  • Date Ended: Jul 1, 2016

Summary

The VTA Flex pilot project is a dynamic shuttle run by the VTA transit agency in North San Jose. VTA FLEX is an on-demand, technology enabled shuttle service which serves between regular transit stops and high-density employment centers and/or retail centers in the Valley. The rides are subsidized ($2-3 dollars a ride) and the service provides shortened commute times from regular fixed route transit as it operates on a hub-to-hub basis, requiring passengers to walk only a few minutes to a pickup location.
