Through the attached ordinance, the City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida created on-street “Passenger Loading Zones.” As codified in Section 26-136 of the city’s Code of Ordinances, they are regulated, as follows:
“No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle for any purpose or period of time except for the expeditious loading or unloading of passengers in any place marked as a passenger curb loading zone during hours when the regulations applicable to such passenger curb loading zone are effective, and then only for a period not to exceed five (5) minutes.”
As shown in the signage below, the rush hours and weekends are designated as no parking. Additionally, the city provides a FAQ and map of the zones.
