MTS & Lyft partner for “Transit Tuesday” initiative, San Diego, CA, 2019

The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) has partnered with Lyft to offer discounted, on-demand rides to/from select transit stations on Tuesdays, through their Transit Tuesday initiative. Through this program, the first 500 riders to claim the discount code will be eligible to receive 25% (up to $3) off up to 26 Lyft rides to/from select transit centers within the designated service area. The rides can be taken between the hours of 6:00 am and 7:00 pm, any Tuesday from June 4, 2019 to August 27, 2019. The discount can be applied to up to two Lyft trips a day. MTS hopes that, by offering a subsidized option for first/last mile mobility, the Transit Tuesday program will encourage commuters to try transit at least one day a week.

Contributed through a partnership between the Shared-Use Mobility Center, ITS America and the Federal Transit Administration’s Mobility on Demand Program.
