Helbiz Offers Shared E-Bikes in Santa Monica, CA, 2023

Helbiz, a micromobility provider, has introduced a fleet of over 100 shared e-bikes for people to use in Santa Monica. These vehicles are available in addition to standing and seated e-scooters provided by Helbiz in the city. Customers can borrow the electric bicycles through the Helbiz mobile app.

Helbiz’s expansion in Santa Monica coincides with the recent withdrawal of Lyft’s bikeshare system from the city. The City of Santa Monica’s partnership with several vendors, including Lyft, Helbiz, and Veo, has ensured that the area remains a robust testing ground for micromobility and other shared mobility modes. Micromobility can be a practical mode of transportation in tourist destinations and for short trips.
